About
My work focuses on examining individual variation in animals' responsivity to reward-associated cues and the consequences of that variation for reward-seeking behavior. I am interested in questions such as: Why do individuals pursue rewards? What neural substrates mediate the assignment and expression of motivational value to reward-associated stimuli? Why are some individuals more vulnerable to develop compulsive reward-seeking behaviors, including addiction?
