Alumna, Classics
American Philological Association, Editor, Amphora
About
I acquire titles for the University of Michigan Press in four main areas: classical archaeology, classical studies, music and musicology, and German studies. I am department manager and a senior editor. I've worked at the Press in two stretches, 1989-1999,and 2008 to present, during which time I've also handled other areas such as early modern and medieval studies, digital studies, history in general, and foreign language pedagogy.
On behalf of the American Philological Association's Division on Outreach, I edit the print-and-online journal Amphora, together with Associate Editor Dr. Wells Hansen (Milton Academy) and members of the Committee on Outreach.
I also have extensive work experience in the software industry and with digital technology in general, including at one point founding and maintaining my own ebook publishing company.
My avatar is from the 1985 Summer Seminar at the American Numismatic Society. I'm in the middle of the front row, next to Nii Quarcoopome (now at the DIA). Fellow Michigander Karen Ros is at far left.
