Graduate Student, Sociology/Public Policy
About
I am pursuing a joint PhD in Public Policy and Sociology. My research examines political contention and the politics of knowledge and expertise in technological projects involving natural resources and the environment. I utilize comparative-historical and qualitative methods to explore these issues. I have just completed a project examining contention over biotechnology/seed patenting in Canada and am beginning a comparative study of the politics of shale oil and tar sands extraction in the U.S. and Canada.
