Jeremy Johnson is a doctoral student in the Interdepartmental Program in Anthropology and History. His research focuses on language and literacy education among women in the South Caucasus (Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan) during the early Soviet period. His work emphasizes the role of public performance and shared texts in the construction of gender and national identities. He is also working on an MA in Russian and East European Studies.
